Sundays @the Barn December 14th: Wastewater Treatment Update

Come hear opinions and share your views

Please join us for another Sundays @the Barn on December 14th from 3:45 – 5:15 when the Eel River Watershed Association will present their thoughts and hear your concerns regarding the draft “Single Environmental Impact Report” published by the town’s consultant in September 2025.

Background

In the fall of 2023, the town submitted a request (to the state) to increase the current wastewater ground discharge in Camelot Park – from 0.75 Million Gallons per Day (MGD) to 3.0 MGD – located at the headwaters of Eel River (see map below)

On January 6th, 2024 the Secretary of Environmental Affairs denied the towns request stating, “the Proponent [town] should submit a Draft Environmental Impact Report (DEIR)…” At the communities’ request, the Select Board created a Citizen’s Advisory Committee (CAC) in June of 2024.

Earlier this year, the town’s consultant submitted a draft of the “Single Environmental Impact Report” for the CAC to review.

The Eel River Watershed Association (ERWA) fully supports efforts to maintain the quality and availability of drinking water for every resident in Plymouth and the health of our harbor, however, ERWA is very concerned with the scope and quality of the current study as it stands today.

Please join the ERWA as an advocate member if you share these concerns.
