Big thanks to everyone who participated in last week’s meeting. Lots of good information shared about the town’s desire to increase ground wastewater discharge 300% in Camelot Part. For those who missed the meeting, you can watch the livestream below:
Earlier this year we asked folks to sign our petition requesting the Select Board create a Citizen’s Advisory Committee (CAC) that would ensure the community was involved with the Massachusetts Environmental Policy Act (MEPA) process. Thank you to everyone who has signed the petition (haven’t signed it? you can do so here).
We have submitted the names of individuals who are willing and interested in participating on the CAC… and have offered guidance on the charter of the CAC . We are waiting to hear back from the Town Manager.
Please join us on March 17th 3:45-5:15 when retired EPA Program Analyst, Kathy Castagna, talks about the Massachusetts Environmental Policy Act (MEPA) review process, recently initiated by the town proposing a 300% increase in groundwater discharge at the wastewater facility in Camelot Park.
The MEPA review process provides meaningful opportunities for public review of potential environmental impacts of projects where actions by state agencies are required. It is extremely important we understand this process so the community can effectively interact with it and strive for a positive outcome.
