Town Holding MBTA Communities Law Forums

“Towns that defy new MBTA housing law could face state legal action”, Attorney General Andrea Campbell says

From Steve Boloton’s website, Steve4plymouth.com – The Planning Department has been working with an independent consultant to examine the requirements of the MBTA Communities Law and to come up with options for the Town to consider in order to comply.  They are now ready to present their findings to the community for its input.  This will be done at two public forums:

Monday, August 21, 2023 at 6:30 pm at Town Hall

Monday, September 11, 2023 at 6:30 pm at Plymouth South High School

Broadcast by PACTV and attendance by Zoom may also be available.

There is a great deal to understand about this law, which is a mandate to create zoning which would allow more multi-family housing in Plymouth, and the potential alternatives available to Plymouth.  That is why public input is being sought.  The community’s sentiments will be presented to the Planning Board and Select Board to help guide them in deciding what approach may be presented to Town Meeting.
